Most Important
- Passport (Brazil tourist visa should have been secured no more than 90 days prior to trip and affixed within your passport from the Consular office)
- Photocopy of passport photo page (in case of loss)
- Airline tickets
- Pen, for filling out custom forms, etc.
- Cash/Travelers checks
- Credit cards accepted in Manaus
- Approximately $300 in $20’s, $10’s, $5’s and $1’s.
- Insurance: Accident; medical; baggage and trip cancellation
- Inoculations and other medications (As per your local health clinic or personal physician – See Complete Peacock Bass Angler text for more details)
Clothing
- Rain suit (lightweight) - An absolute necessity.
- Tropical-weight long sleeve shirts for fishing (2-3)
- Tropical-weight long pants for fishing (2-3)
- Casual pants (1) / Casual shirts (1-2)
- Shorts (2)
- Tennis shoes and/or boat shoes
- T-shirts (2-3)

Fishing Tackle (baitcasting and spinning)
- Baitcasting rods (1-2) - 6’2” - 6’8” MH to H action for large
- topwater plugs
- Baitcasting rods (1-2) - 6’6” - 7’ - M/H action for jerkbaits, spoons, etc.
- Spinning rods 6’6” MH action for smaller lures and jigs
- Jerk baits and spoons can be used on 17-25 lb mono. or braid, ranging from 30 lb Fireline to 65 lb test Spectra (Power Pro).
- Jigs - can be fished on 14-20 lb mono or 30 lb Fireline
- Extra line (primarily 65-80 lb Power Pro and 30 lb Fire Line)
- Casting reels - Should possess smooth drags, strong gears & have capacity to handle 65 lb to 80 lb braided* line for large topwater lures. *Power Pro is an excellent braided line
